Angela Muller is a professional flutist and pedagogue with over 30 years of playing experience. Originally from Denver, Colorado, she currently resides in Jacksonville, FL. Ms. Muller has appeared as a soloist with several ensembles including the First Coast Wind Symphony in their tours of Austria and France. A specialist on auxiliary flutes, she often performs on piccolo and alto flute in addition to the concert flute. Ms. Muller, along with Heather Davidson, are the founding members of the Étoiles Binaire Duo specializing in Classical, Jazz, and Pop genres.

 

Ms. Muller has appeared as a soloist for the Jacksonville Chamber Music Society and has collaborated in orchestras for numerous operas and musicals in Florida and Colorado. Her past collaborations include the First Coast Opera, UNF Opera, Aurora Symphony Orchestra, the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, the Lamont Wind Symphony, the 101st CO Army National Guard Band, and The Original Cowboy Band (Idaho Springs, CO). Angela is the principal flutist (Julie Badger Endowed Chair) for the First Coast Wind Symphony and the founder and executive director of the First Coast Flute Choir, an ensemble consisting of community members that perform regularly in Northeast Florida. 

 

Angela Muller holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Music with an emphasis in flute and conducting from the University of Denver. Her primary flute teachers were Michelle Batty-Stanley, Sylvia Greenfield, and Pamela Endsley.  Her conducting teachers include Dr. Joseph Martin, Dr. Lawrence Golan, Dr. Catherine Sailer, and Dr. Richard Mayne. Masterclasses and performances with Marco Granados, Eric Whitacre, Brian Balmages, Jack Stamp, and several others have inspired her to become a lifelong learner.

 

Mrs. Muller has an extensive background as an educator and a conductor. She is frequently requested as a clinician at many of the Northeast Florida schools.  Ms. Angela has taught music in the public schools at all levels, focusing on band, chorus, and general music. Ms. Muller has served as the Guest Conductor for the Jr. Honors Flute Choir (FFA) and presented pedagogical topics several times at the Florida Flute Association’s Annual Convention. She was a featured Guest Artist at the 2024 Florida Flute Convention. In addition to performing with various ensembles, Angela owns and operates the Muller Flute Studio, a private instruction studio for learners of all ages and levels.
