Flute Beginning (Grades K-5):

  • For young/small students: Curved Head Joint Flute (Di Zhao Mini-Di, Nuvo J-flute)
    For all others: straight head, silver plated flute with offset G key (Yamaha 221, DiZhao 300Giardinelli)
  • Blocki Flute Method, Book 1 OR The Flute Zoo series by Kathy Blocki
  • Pneumo Pro Wind Director
  • Theory Time (Choose level based on grade/age)
  • Spiral notebook to be used as a journal for lesson notes, practice log, and homework.

Flute Beginning (Grades 6-7):

  • Straight head, silver plated flute with offset G key (Yamaha 221, DiZhao 300Giardinelli)
  • Blocki Flute Method, Book 1 OR The Flute Zoo series by Kathy Blocki
  • Pneumo Pro Wind Director
  • Theory Time (Choose level based on grade/age)

(Adult) Flute Beginning: 

  • Blocki Flute Method, Book 1, 2, or 3 by Kathy Blocki
  • The Flute Scale Book: A Path to Artistry by P. George & P. Louke, published by Presser
  • Theory Time (Level will be assessed at the first lesson)

Flute Intermediate (Grades 8-10 or adult with some experience):

  • Blocki Flute Method, Book 2 by Kathy Blocki (available on www.blockiflute.com)
  • Rubank Advanced Flute Method Volume 1 by Gower & Voxman, published by Rubank (Middle School 7-8)
  • The Flute Scale Book: A Path to Artistry by P. George & P. Louke, published by Presser

COVID Policies: All students are required use hand sanitizer upon entry AND asked to wear a face mask if cold symptoms are present. Students are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to get vaccinated.

The instructor, Ms. Angela, is fully vaccinated with Booster. 

Additional precautions include:

  • sanitizing high touch surfaces (Bleach/alcohol and use of a UVC light with Ozone) 
  • use of a HEPA air filtration system in studio with a 240 CADR rating
